Sports at ISK

Athletics play a vital role in student life at ISK, helping students stay active, build character, and develop lifelong skills. Our sports program encourages students to challenge themselves physically while learning the importance of teamwork, commitment, and perseverance. From volleyball and basketball to soccer and cross country students can choose from a variety of sports that suit their interests and abilities. Whether they’re new to a sport or experienced athletes, there’s a place for everyone to grow and contribute. Beyond regular training and games, ISK athletes have the exciting chance to travel across Poland and internationally, competing in events hosted by our CEESA partner schools. These regional tournaments create memorable experiences, foster friendships, and promote intercultural understanding through sport.

Activities at ISK

Student growth goes far beyond the classroom and competitive sports. Through our activities program, we offer students meaningful opportunities to explore their interests, develop their talents, and connect with peers across the region. Our diverse range of activities includes Choir, Knowledge Bowl, Mathcounts, and Model United Nations, each designed to challenge students intellectually, creatively, and socially. These experiences allow students to build confidence, practice collaboration, and discover their full potential. Students not only engage deeply with these programs on campus but also have the exciting opportunity to travel both within Poland and internationally to participate in events hosted by CEESA partner schools.

The Hussars are an important symbol for the International School of Krakow because they represent strength, courage, and unity, values that reflect who we are as a school community. Just like the legendary Polish Winged Hussars, our mascot stands for determination, resilience, and pride in overcoming challenges, whether in academics, athletics, or everyday school life. The Hussars bring students, teachers, and families together under a shared identity, creating a strong sense of belonging and school spirit.

As an international community rooted in Krakow, the Hussars also connect us to the rich history and culture of Poland while reminding us to move forward with confidence, teamwork, and respect.

The current Hussars logo was designed in 2019 by our students, making it a symbol created by and for the ISK community.
